As the Avalonia MailRouter has been designed to run in the background,
you will seldom need to pull it to the foreground. Actually MailRouter
will do its best to prevent you from doing so.
The only way to move MailRouter to the foreground is by holding the Command-key
down while you select MailRouter in the process menu in the upper right
corner.
When pulled to the foreground MailRouter will open a dialog containing
three buttons:
As soon as you press one of the buttons, MailRouter will be sent to the background.
Sometimes, when MailRouter is brought to the foreground in System 8.X, the Finder will put up a alert, complaining about a minor communication problem with the number -917. The reason for this is outdated information, which is automatically updated as soon as the alert is shown. With normal usage of MailRouter this alert is shown very seldomly, and has no consequences for the function of MailRouter or the system. If you get this alert you can just press the OK button in the alert and ignore the message.
As MailRouter is scriptable, you can start, quit, restart and reset MailRouter from an AppleScript.
